Renaissance Vox is the ultimate, easy-to-use soft knee vocal compressor, featuring compression, gating, limiting, and L2-style level maximization, all controlled by a simple, straightforward interface.
Using extremely fast attack and release settings, together with automatic output level make-up gain, Renaissance Vox tightens up voices and allows greater control over vocal performances blessed (or plagued) by a wide dynamic range. And it does it all using only 3 control parameters: Gate Threshold, Compression Threshold, and Output Gain.
For onstage work, no other processor gives you as much bang for the buck as Renaissance Vox. It really is one of those “dial it in and move on” kinds of plug-ins.

The Renaissance Vox compressor function features automatic make-up gain, which is directly related to your Compression Threshold setting. For example, -3 dB attenuation of compression results in +3 dB of make-up gain on your output level. Set automatically for soft knee compression, Renaissance Vox features a threshold-dependent ratio, with a fast attack and program-dependent release. Rounding out the feature set, its gentle gate feature is perfect for eliminating unwanted noises between vocal parts.
Renaissance Vox is available in RenMaxx, Platinum, Diamond, Mercury, Live
"I use Renaissance Vox every day of the week. I love its simplicity…It’s great on any vocal track and super easy to use."

Here’s a great way to set up Renaissance Vox to optimize your vocals in a live situation.

• On your mixing desk, set your vocal channel gain level.

• Insert Renaissance Vox on your vocal channel.

• Set the Gate Threshold just a tad above the lowest level in your vocalist’s range. (Keep in mind: the Gating function won’t be as effective on stages that are particularly small or loud, since the Gate will open in response to any signal captured by the mic above the Threshold level, not just the vocal.)

• Use the Compressor Threshold to set the amount of compression you need. Remember that the automatic make-up gain will actually raise your output level as the compression starts to kick in.

• Use the Output Gain trim fader to determine your final output level.
