Waves Z-Noise is a unique broadband noise reduction tool. It works by first identifying noise, then creating a noise profile, and finally removing the profiled noise from your source signal. But while most profile-based noise reduction programs require an isolated noise sample from which to create a profile, Z-Noise has a couple of very intelligent features that eliminate the need for isolated noise: Extract mode, which derives a noise profile from sources that contain signal and noise, and Adaptive mode, which adjusts to changes in the noise signature in real-time.
Adaptive dynamic detection is particularly useful when the noise is not consistent. Simply insert Z-Noise on a track, and it responds to changes in noise characteristics on the fly. Z-Noise also lets you create and save noise profile presets for recurring operations, such as the restoration of Vinyl recordings, and is ideal for removing noise caused by tape hiss, long unbalanced cables, ventilation systems, wind, and more. |

Unique Z-Noise Features
• Monitor mode which allows you to hear the entire output or just the noise being removed, in order to best adjust the threshold and tweak the noise and EQ profiles • Extract mode which creates a profile from source materials that contain signal • Adaptive mode which extracts a noise profile and removes noise on-the-fly • Noise Profile adjustment with EQ section lets you tweak the noise profile for more control, like having five frequency-dependent thresholds • Optimize modes which let you adjust the transients, and allow Z-Noise’s intelligent transient-handling minimize smearing
Z-Noise is available separately as well as in Waves Mercury, Diamond, Broadcast & Production, and Restoration bundles, and supports RTAS, Audio Suite, VST and AU. |

X-Hum is an intelligent notch filter. It removes steady pitch hum, rumble, and DC-offset noise, by combining a high-pass filter and eight harmonically-linked deep-cut narrow-band notches.
Usually, when you want to remove a specific tone from a recording, you’ll want to eliminate its overtones as well. X-Hum lets you do this by enabling linkage of the fundamental tone with seven additional overtone notches in pre-configured harmonic offsets. In Link mode, you can change the gain and frequency of the fundamental tone, and the harmonic notches will retain their relative offsets. You can also choose to link only even or odd harmonics, or to work in free mode, with no harmonic offset linking. Intuitive and easy-to-use, X-Hum is perfect for removing ground loop hum, rumble, and DC offset, as well as unwanted ringing on drum tracks. |

Unique X-Hum Features
• Harmonically-linked notches for removing the offensive frequency’s overtones, with Linked, Odd/Even, and Free modes • Extremely narrow cut notches, with up to 60dB reduction • Inverse monitoring, which boosts the specified bands instead of cutting with the click of a button, so you can locate and isolate the offensive frequencies • Adjustable high-pass filter
X-Hum is included in Waves Mercury, Diamond, Broadcast & Production, and Restoration bundles, and supports RTAS, Audio Suite, VST and AU. |
